Perhaps crying would be a more rational reaction than laughing. Just take impeachment for an example. What scandal can they be thinking of that would make impeachment something to consider? Or, Palin is more qualified to be president (53%). [At 16%, she's 5 points up on any other possible candidate in the poll.]

It seems to me that the best approach in any and all up-coming media interviews for any Republican on any news show would be to ask them to answer these questions on air before moving on to the scheduled topic.

While funny, you do have to grant that probably 25% of the respondents would probably select the NSDAP over the Democrats in a poll. The same goes for the left and the GOP.

In all fairness, most of the inane answers were a decided minority. This poll seems to indicate about 25% of Republicans are total idiots, but the same is probably true about 25% of the American population in general, so I don't see this as particularly condemning of Republicans.

The only answer that bothered me at all was the Sarah Palin one. Sarah Palin is objectively incompetent to be President of the United States. Even many Republican politicians have avoided the question when asked whether or not she's qualified.

I would agree with Yata's interpretation.

If the poll question is "who do you support", not knowing is a perfectly acceptable and valid answer--- still shows a lack of intellect.

But if the question is "Do you believe the earth is flat" and you have three poossible answers: yes, no or don't know. If you answer "don't know", then you are just as stupid as the person answering yes.

Same goes for these poll questions.
