I have no intention of seeking out privates, nor do I intend on requesting money. But occasionally people have asked me if I would teach privately. I'm on an E-2 VISA and this is prohibited but would bartering be allowed?
In my situation, I'd probably have the person cook a meal or pay for food or something.
Out of curiousity, could a person theoretically say "I'll teach you English for an hour if you clean my house for an hour."?
Once again, I'm just curious. I assume that both situations would be fine since currency is not involved. But I'm curious to hear other perspectives on it.
(I used the search, both Dave's and a Google custom search and couldn't find any info.) |

Any form of remuneration for language teaching is illegal for any foreigners not on an F-visa and is, hence, not allowed for discussion here by any except for F-visa holders. |
