There's a Mexican Restaurant that opened a few month's ago in Daejeon. Business is a bit soft but the owner has not advertised much so I thought I would share the information here. This is purely for selfish reasons as I want the place to stay in business so I can continue to eat there. Laughing

It's in Gung-Dong, not far from Santa Claus bar. They are open for dinner only and closed on Sunday as of now. The place is just called "Taco"

For Mexican food in Korea, the food is excellent! I have eaten at the Itaewon places and this is better. I'm from Los Angeles area, have a Mexican sister-in-law, and cook my own Mexican here in Korea so I know what I am talking about.

The dishes are 8,000-10,000 Won per plate and the plates are good sized. For example, the Enchiladas Verde comes with 3 Enchiladas on the plate. To be honest, I use some of the same vendors to buy Mexican food supplies so I know some of his prices and I am not sure how he makes any money....but that's his business Smile

The only criticism I would have is that the service from the kitchen is a bit slow, but I don't really care personally...

As far as I know, this is the only option for Mexican in Daejeon.

Here is a map to the location. Enjoy!

edit: I edited this post and double wrote the word Mexican because remarkably if you search for "mexican" it won't find "Mexican" on this stupid site!

I tried the chicken fajitas and the burritos and I quite liked both. I got completely stuffed, and loved the sour cream, but I've heard some other people who didn't like it so much.

My biggest problem with the place was their table layout. The table placement felt weird. I ate at the tables almost the right wall, and they kind of felt too close yet too spacious at the same time. I think the two tables were too close to each other while the space to the side was too large. Didn't feel very comfortable.

Yes, I should have mentioned...I have had the tacos, the burritos and the chicken enchiladas. All were good but I like the enchiladas best.

I agree the tables are arranged kinda lame, but, really, they could make me sit naked on a block of ice and I would do it for decent Mexican food in Korea Wink

Yes. Closed Sundays, open for dinner until 10pm or later the other 6 days.

Enjoy, the place rocks. I ate at the Mexican joint in Jeju City last week and still think this one in Daejeon has better food, especially the Enchiladas...
