Hey Everyone,
This might be better off on the travel forum, but I figure there's more traffic on this page.

Some friends and I want to go to the Vivaldi park for the weekend. I've been looking online for pensions, but no luck. Does anyone have contact info or a website for a good place to stay up there?

Also, what's the best way to get there? (bus, shuttle, train)

Thanks so much for your help,
J

There are plenty of free buses from all over. I got one from Sinchon Rotary (exit 5 I think). Mine left at 9.20am and arrived at 11ish.

Not sure about accommodation. It's not very good though. If you're a beginner then it might be OK but the longest run is about 3 minutes and the lift queues are horrendous. Phoenix Park is a better place, plus there's a youth hostel there.

I live out near Vivaldi Park. You can now take the subway (Jungnang Line- light blue (not line 4)) to Yongmun and they have free shuttles every half an hour to Vivaldi from Yongmun. On the weekend there are lots of people taking this option so just follow the crowd. There aren't many inexpensive options for staying at Vivaldi, but you could also get a room at love motel in Yongmun, or just take the subway or train back to Seoul.

A lot like the poster above me said...

I went to Vivaldi Ski Resort 3 weekends ago.

I took the subway to Oksu (line 3) and then transferred to the Jungang Line (teal color) and you take that as far as you possibly can east. On all of the subway maps I've seen the exit you need (Yongmum) isn't even listed as it just opened.

I had a Korean girl take me here so I was fine. From Ori Station (bundang line) it took me 3 hours and 45 minutes there. I don't know where you live, but I'd most definitely take just about the 1st train on the subway. Then, once you get to Yongmum, you walk out of the subway staiton and about 3-4 blocks straight, then 1 block to the left and you wait at a random intersection for a really big bus. Then, the bus ride to Vivaldi takes about 45 minutes and then you're there.

I hadn't ever been skiing before (I snowboarded instead), but it was a ton of fun. The place is packed. I went on a Saturday. There must have been at least 30-40k people there. I was one of 6 foreigners all day (yes I counted). The slopes are fun, and there's a Burger King that you can have lunch at.

Have fun!
