Is it worth it?

I just bought an HDTV and am now tempted to get cable TV to go along with it.

I'm primarily interested in English-language programming and would be fine with only a handful of channels. Mainly because I don't want to pay satellite TV costs. I typically download most of the media I consume, but it would be nice to have TV going on in the background sometimes.

Are there are providers you would recommend? I'm currently subscribed to SK Telecom for Internet but am having a bit of trouble finding info about their cable TV service.

Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what you want. If you have broadband, Qook and SK Broadband offer IPTV, and the latter has the more interesting channels (BBC Knowledge, Australian Network, BBC Lifestyle, etc). If you have Qook, you can also get Skylife without having to get a dish installed.

Since you have an HDTV, perhaps Skylife is your choice, as it has the most HD channels in Korea.

Cable is not so bad, but getting digital is the key since regular cable can have very horrible reception.

Also know that cable varies in price, reception and channels by region.
