In the States we have Pizza Hut, Burger King, Mcdonald's and so on, does Korea have fast food(not street food)? If so, what are some of the better ones? |

Burger King is Korean.
...just kidding...
Lotteria is the best known Korean fast food restaurant. It looks a lot like McDonalds and would never be allowed to open up in back home because of copyright laws. They serve a Koreanized McDonalds menu. Some like it... most do not. |

There are two very basic kinds of Korean food, but for my life I can't remember their names. One is the sit-down haemultang / galbi type and the other is the dunkassu / mandu type. Korean "Fast Food" is the second type. Anything that can be had at Kimbap Cheonguk or Kimbap Nara is fast food. It's stuff like Shin Ramen, Dunkass, single bowls of Dwenjang Chiggae, things like that. That's the way one of my students explained it to me. She said "Kimbap Cheonguk is Korean food McDonald's." |

Thanks for the info. Just wanted to get a feel for how Korea is now since I haven't been there in a while. I'll have to check out Kimbap Cheonguk & Kimbap Nara...... |

There's definitely a little 스 at the end.
Also, Dungass is almost better than Dunkass. |

What's wrong with dunkass? It's good honest food. I wouldn't throw a party for it, but it's tasty and usually comes with rice. |

I think it's the way they spelled it. Although technically, Koreans say it Donkkasseu. Similar to the Japanese pronunciation of tonkatsu. |

The specialty donkatsu chains make amazing sets. Texture, crispy with little oiliness. Gimbap nara donkatsu has nothing on the good ones. |

Yes, the Saboten chicken katsu with the lemon rind inside is delicious. Sweet lemon rind sweet sweet lemon rind.
Bravo your lemon rind. |

As far as fast food here is concerned, my heart belongs to the deep fried hard boiled eggs, vegetable fritters, and squashy cinnamon pancakes at the street food carts. For K fast food restaurants, Isaac Toast is also tops. Yachae-Cheesheu-Kamja Toast for the win! |
