Its good to have dialogue. I find it interesting how Obama has closed door meetings with lobbyists and special interest leaders at the White House on Healthcare, but discussions with Republicans are televised. Obama is holding a notebook with ideas from the Republican party. Here's how I think the meeting if going to turn out:

Obama: I've read your ideas. I've thought them over. We're not changing anything. So, stop being partisan and vote on the current Democrat bill.

Republicans: Umm... no.

Liberals: See, Republicans are the party of "no"!

Aren't you forgetting all those various committee meetings (wasn't it 5 different committees?) where all members had the chance to contribute ideas in the writing of the bill, then again in the amendment process? At one point, weren't there 500 amendments offered for the Senate bill?

And C-SPAN televised pretty much all of them.

Mildly related, and funny.
