Im hoping to bring my US ps3. It is not multivoltage and it says 120W. I am not sure what to buy a step up/step down transformer or a power converter?
also when im there do I need to step up the ps3's voltage of 120 to 220 or do I need to step down the wall sockets 220 to the ps3s 110. Im confused. |

i brought a us ps3 last year. said the same thing on the back, but wasn't a problem. I was scared when first turning it on, but it's been 11 months and no issues.
No big converter necessary, just plug it into a regular $2 prong adapter. |

| I dont want to fry my 300$ ps3.. anyone know for sure if i need a step up or step down transformer? |

UPDATE: I just got back to OZ and plugged my system in without the converter and it worked flawlessly. My 80 GB system says only regulated for 120V but I callled Sony and they said it will work with out any power converter. Actually the guy told me NOT to use the step down converter because it might cause the power flow to be unstable and could damage the system.

3 options:
1) get a step down transformer when you get here (30k won at any department store).
2) get a Korean power supply for your toy (less than 30k at any electronics market (Yongsan, technomart, etc)).
3) take a chance and hope that in spite of the label it really is 110-240VAC adaptable (not a great choice).

Pretty sure that the ps3's power supply is built in |
