|
|
Hi All.
I got my visa issuance number yesterday and called the Korean Consulate in New York today to schedule an interview.
I was struck by how informal the scheduling process seemed. They asked if I had a visa issuance number, and I said yes, but they never actually asked for the number. They asked what day I would like, and I said Tuesday, Feb 2. They said ok, and told me 2:30 on Tuesday. They then asked my name, however I only got out my first name because the woman cut me off and said, "ok that's good". She then told me the documents I had to bring.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid...but the fact that she only took my first name down seems rather...loose. Is this just how the interiews work? Do they just have a few timeslots during the day and they tell 20 people to come at that time and interview them as they show up? Or is this supposed to be a more firm appointment?
I'm just worried that I'll show up after flying to NYC and have them tell me, "sorry, you don't have an appointment".
Any thoughts? |

My interview was via webcam, and it was pretty informal. I think you'll be fine. Just make sure you have al the right documents. |

From my experience you will be fine. They may be lax because it is just a routine piece of business to them. Don't stress about it. If there is an foul up about the appointment time, you may have to wait, but they will not turn you away. |

Hi there. I can't PM you since I don't have enough posts, but how did you set this up? I was told by the Chicago consulate that I had to appear in person, but I live a really long way away and don't want to spend the money travelling there. |

I just called the Chicago consulate. Three times. I was told you CAN_T pick a date. Although, if you have had a Korean visa before, there-s no interview, you can just post your stuff. |
