I spoke with a recruiter and he told me that the hiring season for CDI corporate branches are over and I want to go right away. This means that I will have to go with a franchise. I've heard horror stories about it being a hit or miss. I am wondering if that is really the case. So...

1) Should I take my chances with a franchise branch or wait until corporate (which would be a month later from the starting date at the franchise)? What do you think is better?

ALSO...

I only applied to CDI and Topia. Does anyone have any other private school suggestions that offers good pay and is just overall a good, reliable English institution?

Thanks guys! 1st post!

YBM's ECC has some fine branches, but it's all relative. Don't take an anonymous Dave's user's word on whether or not you'd do alright at a given school. Get a feeling from the school from the interview and talking to the teachers there at that moment.

Relax, take a deep breath and start again.

Your recruiter is lying to you. Both of those chains hire year round.

There are LOTS of hakwon jobs available.

Apply through SEVERAL other recruiters. They will let you know what they have.

If you like something, go with it. If you don't then keep looking.

Oh, and THERE IS NO RUSH TO SIGN ANYTHING other than the faster they get you to sign the faster they get paid and less work they have to do.

Take you time and get what you want.
