what up,
trying to use k-pop to learn korean has made my brain bleed out my ears. i came across Kim Doo Soo

Thanks for posting that, Ya-Ta. I'm going crazy listening to Kim Kwang Seok. His voice carries so much emotion.
I agree with the OP this would be a much better way to learn Korean than listening to pop music. It's nice that the poster of Kim's songs also put up the lyrics. You might also try Jaurim if you want some good, non-pop Korean music. Bluedawn (푸른새벽) are also amazing, but their lyrics are often far more complicated than your typical folk, pop, or rock song's. More like poetry. But, in learning some of their songs, I did find myself referring to the vocabulary therein when speaking Korean and searching for the right word.

For studying with music, try to memorize whole songs and sing along without referring to lyrics sheets. Or only refer to the English translation that you made while learning the song. |
