Is it possibly one of the world's least appealing cuisines?
I say this because recently,I was invited to a party hosted by some Vietnamese students and they wanted all of us foreigners to sample their traditional dishes.
Apart from the rather delicious spring rolls, everything else seemed to be simply boiled in watered, spiced and eaten.Chicken, pork, beef and fish were all boiled up in this manner.Fish sauce was used liberally on all of the stuff. It was one of the blandest tasting cuisines I've ever eaten. There was no color to the food and it was utterly tasteless.
Maybe this was an atypical situation?I've never been to Vietnam so I don't have any first-hand experiences with respect to their food.If anyone of you have been to Vietnam or have more experiences with this cuisine, please enlighten me.

| Yes, and Americans all eat fast food, fish and chips for the British, potato everything for the Irish, and all Korean food is red and spicy. |

Hmm, that's odd. I just recently moved to Hanoi after 3 years in Seoul and I find the food infinitely better! And cheaper, too! I make slightly less here but man is it cheap. And the people smile and wave, too. Don't tell anyone. 3 cans of Heineken and a pack of cancer sticks? $4. See ya Korea.
