15 days left until the final trip to Incheon airport. I'd write this closer to that date but I'm planning on shipping my computer within the next few days so I won't be around very much other than the occasional PC Bang visit.
I've been in Korea for nearly three years and have been active on this forum (I had another account) since before I even arrived to Korea. I went from being the naive guy to the "I'm sick of this place guy" in that time, something I actually never thought would happen.
Overall Korea has been good to me but it's time that I leave. I feel like I've seen/done it all and I'm not really that impressed with everything in this country. That's not to say I dislike Korea, just to say that I'm not meant to live here. I'll be back for visits but I do think Japan will be my final destination for the foreseeable future.
Cheers everyone. Be healthy, happy and safe. If you feel like you've had enough of being here, leave and you will be better off for it. At the end of the day, I learned a lot from Dave's and from everyone here even if we weren't always on the same page.

enjoy the break at home.
I left korea after 18months in july 2008 but I'm coming back in 15 days (the same time you're leaving). I left to go home and see my family, new born nephew, do my masters and also cos I had enough of Korea at the time.
Now, I'm going back out, to the same area, same town, and even the same school, but at least to a bigger apartment
I am happy enough to be going back, not because I missed korea so much that I had to go back (although I did miss certain aspects) I'm happy at the thought of having a job and a purpose and even a routine again. I'm getting sick of not working, I graduated from my masters in December and have had no luck in getting a job. |

When has a Korean ever spoken that to you? It's almost always pronounced the way I typed it. Anyway, I'll fix it so there isn't a million posts like this.
안녕하세요 is rarely pronounced 안- 녕 - 하 - 세 - 요 too.
I know it's 안녕히계세요.

I might end up in Korea again, who knows. The job market in Japan isn't exactly that great despite the fact I was able to find a job. If things go really south I could see myself ending up back in Korea but only under the condition that I can find a better job than what I have now, in a better area. |

God speed too you!
I left Korea after about 2 years and was relieved to do so in some ways. That was back in July. Now that I'm studying again and living off of the small wages that come with an assitantship, I'm missing most things about korea. The apt., food, nightlife, and general kindness of the local ajummas. I even miss my Kimbab Nara.
Savor what good memories you got and take them to Japan. Good Luck to you. |

Cheers!
Korea is still better than being home, hands down. For me, anyway! |

It marks the end of the honeymoon period that many (not most) people go through while living here- I went through it back about ten years ago.
In any case, good luck on your new endeavors |
