There was a thread about this topic a few days ago. A lot of people like the experience, quite a few are weirded out by the nudity factor. There you go. |

Has anyone ever been to one that's just referred to as a sauna? As in a public bath in the countryside?
I'm heading out to the countryside and we have to use the public baths, but I'm not exactly sure what to expect. |

This is good advice. Koreans, in my experience, are usually pretty sympathetic to your plight. If you are looking lost or confused, someone will help you out. |

they're awesome, there is a green tea hot bath in my local sauna, it rocks. just look for a steaming bowl symbol and you've found yourself a sauna, they're everywhere. |

I like them.
You can find a lot of them Europe as well, but no where near as common as here. It seems like every neighbourhood here has a few. Some large appartment blocks even have one for the residents.
There was a video about one by Engrish Teacher Ryan on Youtube.

He was absolutely weirded out by the fact that people were naked in the change rooms. |

People are always helping me out when I go by myself.
There is something really nice about being completely naked with strangers and not being shy. It is liberating when some stranger shows you around the baths while walking around in only your birthday suite.
The first time i went to a bath house was in Turkey. It was beautiful, 600 years old and i got scrubbed down by a very large Turkish woman. I was so shy at first but soon realized no one really cared about me at all...
No one could judge me on what i was wearing, how i did my hair etc etc etc...i was free to wander around only in what mama gave me. |

I am interested in reading more on ms.catbc's experiences in all-female bathouses. For science, of course.

Green tea? How common is that sort of thing? What other nonstandard bath mediums are out there?
Also, I fully look forward to intimidating everyone I know with my hairy self. Seriously my chest is like swatches of shag carpet stapled to a wookie. It's the leader in 1970s van decor. |

I did this in Turkey, too! It was fantastic! Haven't done it here, though. |
