|
|
Hi,
I have done some searching through the forums to find an answer to this question and have not found anything. I apologise if this has previously been asked (and would appreciate a link to the topic).
I am about to commence my contract in Korea and plan to stay for a year. After this time, I will be travelling to England to teach.
As I am residing in Korea for an extended amount of time, my English recruiters require a background check from Korea.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I assume it is? If so, can you provide any insight, help or relevant website to look at.
Thanks! |

You can get one from the GU-police station (not the local dong police office) while you are IN Korea.
IF you are OUT of Korea you can contact the local Korean consulate/embassy to get one. |

Awesome. Nice and simple answer thank you. I'll be interested to see how simple it is to communicate what I want though! :p
Thanks! |

if you're in korea, its really easy. had to get one done myself recently and it took about 10 mins. just explain to a coworker what you need, get them to write it in korean. they actually had an english form at the station so i could fill it all out myself. handed that to the woman behind the desk with my ID card, 10 mins later i had a police check. |

Just go to your gu-Police station (not your small local police station) - the big one (example Gangnam-gu station or Songpa-gu station or Gangdong-gu station.
Show your ARC and its free and only takes 3 minutes. |

Does anyone know if it is still easy to receive a criminal background check while in Korea if you don't have you ARC yet? What if you're planning on working under the table and are still required to have your background check.... is it a bad idea to get one done at the Korean police station? |
