It looks like I'm headed for Jecheon and, judging by the gov stats and the dearth of search returns otherwise, it's going to be on the more rural side of the SK city spectrum.
That said, anyone familiar with the general area? What are my options in terms of larger nearby cities with Western amenities/nightlife/a place where I can pick up a guitar? Should I just make trips to Seoul for those purposes? |

My wife is from Jaecheon. The nearest city is Wonju. I basically
refuse to accompany her when she goes there to visit her high school
friends. The place has absolutely nothing an upwardly mobile western
male would want. There is no nightlife, foods, live music, micro-brew...
nothing. In fact, before I started refusing to go there I would pop a
couple of Xanies before I came to within about 50Km of the place.
In a word, dreadful.
