Hello everyone. There is a pretty good chance that I will be living and working in the Guui dong of Gwangjin in the very near future, and would love to get some insight from folks that are familiar with the area. If anyone has lived, worked, or spent any kind of time in Gwangjin, I'd love to hear your experiences and any other detailed information you can share with me.

There seems to be a very limited amount of information written on Dave's about Guui and Gwangjin in general. I also have not found much information when doing a google search.

I might be working for a new hagwon that is opening up in the area. I appreciate any and all of your input!

Personally, I think it is a great location. You will be near Gangbyeon and can take a bus out of Seoul anytime. Also, it's on line 2, so you can travel the center of Seoul. You will be also within reach of foreign areas to the west and the richer more established areas to the south.

The only disadvantage I see is that you will have 30-45 more minutes of travel time if you travel south of Seoul to places like Suwon, Daejeon, or parts of Incheon. If I wanted to live in Seoul I would definitely consider offers there.

As far as the contract, pay, and school, that's as different story. It might be hell to work at such a nice/convenient location. Make sure it's what you really want. My strategy is to get a job just outside of Seoul that people won't take right away. So far I have been lucky with 2 out of 2 jobs like this. The one job I had in Seoul was hell, even though I had a good location also, just north of Guui.
