when i look for another job and say i have a year of experience, i know i have to list the school...but do they call the school for a reference? i know that slander law is a big deal here and so if they prevent me from being hired, wouldn't that get them in trouble?
just to get it straight, i've been a good employee. i've done everything they've wanted, but they've stolen money etc. and i'm definitely confronting them on this and will most likely blacklist the school in as many ways as possible. so i don't think we'll be on good terms.
can i just explain to the person "my boss did all this stuff to me and i called him out and reported him, etc. so he's not going to give me a good review." and would that even matter? i know people have gotten fired and rehired at other places, i'm just in the dark as to how references go. do they call your old boss or just check with immigration to see if you actually worked somewhere else? |

Come on, this is Korea. Who do you think they would believe? I made the mistake of listing someone as a reference who I'd had a few run ins with, but subsequently changed to a more friendly face when I realised my mistake.
There must be at least one person at the old place who will speak favourably of you? |

Get a written reference(recommendation letter) from the school and make sure that they put the school's offical chop-dong(square stamp) on the letter.  |

| ok, so once i get this letter, what if they call my bosses still and my bosses then proceed to tell them how i tricked them into giving the recommendation, etc. am i better off just pretending to be a newbie and not listing them? i would really like the pay increase...what about just listing a korean co-teacher as a reference? is that possible or do they need the person who pays the checks? perhaps i can just get a co-teacher to pretend to be my boss when they call........hmmm.... |
