So, here's the deal. The k-fiance and myself are going to be doing the legal paperwork this month for a marriage. We don't want a big Korean wedding, instead we are trying to plan a small informal thing for a beach in Thailand. Most of the info that I'm finding online is inclusive packages that includes the cost for a legal wedding (so that you're legally married) but we do not need this, as we will have already done the paperwork here in Korea.
Is there anyone out there who has done this (or know of someone who has)? Basically, all we want is a small beach ceremony, me, the fiance, some friends and family (less than 20 total) and an officiant of some kind. Any suggestions? |

All I would suggest is finding a resort that has a wedding package, that includes cake, officiant, photos and/or video. The meals and drinks will be included in the resort fee so you don't have to worry about that.
I don't know about Thailand but my friend eloped in Jamaica at Sandals. He and his fiance were getting stressed with the marriage preparations and dealing with each others in-laws that the snuck out one day and took a charter flight to Sandals. The whole plane load was going there and they invited everyone to the wedding. The met a nice couple and asked them to be the maid of honour and best man and about 200 people showed up on the beach for a sunset wedding. After, they had a big dance and party with everyone at the resort.
Have fun. |

My now husband and I did the same thing, except in Greece. Usually if you contact the company, you will still pay the same cost except you will not pay for the marriage license. It was super easy to do it that way. And good for your future husband! I love Koreans that are willing to try something different than the circus Korean weddings. |
