When you said "they [the recruiter] are still waiting for the contract to be sent from Korea." Did they mean they are waiting for the school to complete the visa issuance number stuff? Did you send the docs to your recruiter or to the school you will be working for?

Ask for your schools email address, and then email both your recruiter and school about it, get them moving and make them tell you where things are.

...if you sent it via a courier then you will have a tracking number? you can see who signed for it, shout at them especially.[/b]

I accepted a position on January 4th and Fedex'd my documents in the middle of January, but received my visa issue number just a week ago. It took longer than we were expecting as I was to arrive in Korea on February 6th. My passport has been at the Korean consulate office since last Friday, but not sent out yet according to my prepaid return delivery confirmation number. I called the Korean consulate yesterday, but the lady wouldn't look up my application and just told me it takes about a week. You still have lots of time to set up your visa if starting on April 1st. I hear you about all this worry of securing your job as I too am anxiously waiting to get to it.

Hi Chris,

I sent all my docs to my recruiter and have only have contact with my recruiter. I dont know which school i will be working at because my recruiter just said they are still waiting for the contracts (im not sure if its because the schools are still issuing the visa number etc)and the list of schools before he can allocate us to the schools and send the contracts... its a public school not a private school so maybe thats why?

I sent all my documents through post.. so there was no tracking number.

I cant email the school because i dont even know which school i will be teaching....

Confused Embarassed Confused
