for you fitness buffs, i'm curious as to whether or not you eat before working out-- if, like me, you do a workout first thing in the morning. this trainer i follow online says to eat sth small, like a banana or a spoonful of peanut butter and a cup of juice or sth like that. but sometimes i feel famished in the morning and feel the need to eat a small but full meal. do you do this? and if so how long do you then wait before hitting the gym? tyvm

Hi.
My old man was a professional boxer, and he would train an hour or two after eating a decent breakfast, but he'd always do his rode run before breakfast. I train (boxing) in the late afternoon, at least two hours after eating. I think your trainer is on the mark, but everyone's body is different, and I don't know how intense your training is. Why don't you try eating a little more each morning until you find your own measure. Good luck, and stay healthy!

OP: If you're talking about hitting cardio hard in the morning - the more you eat before, the more you will hurt. Get some juice or Gatorade, candy bar, or piece of fruit for energy and hit the track. Then afterward, eat a nice breakfast.

PS: Mad props for getting outta bed early to work out. I try it now and then, but it just doesn't stick. 5am is too early to roll outta bed.

How exactly does one do a rode run? Sounds like a rough workout
