|
If anyone is interested in completing a UK MBA in Seoul with off-line classes on weekends (and on-line classes as well-i.e. blended learning) within 1 year, please PM me. Apparently, the physical degree will not indicate ON-LINE.
Especially for those of us who need a completed Masters Degree for future Uni gigs in Korea (and perhaps even a job eventually back home).

Seems the Brit universities accept just about any schmuck with no GMAT required. No wonder Koreans who get MBAs from Britain save from the London School of Busines suggest going to the U.S. |

Well, I'm no expert on U.K. education but it seems many of the grad schools do not require the GMAT or GRE like they do in the U.S. I also talked to one guy who advises Koreans and Chinese on study in the U.K. and even he says to get a U.S. MBA since the British one seems to focus on study, study, study and is also really intensive without room to breathe. |

I've only heard of the London School of Business and Manchester School of Business requiring GMAT.
It's no wonder why employers prefer US MBAs. |

Another thing that needs mentioning is that most expats in Korea have little or no business experience. Even after getting an MBA, having little or no biz experience in this horrible job market makes me question this decision unless you're pretty young and such.
Legions of MBAs are out of work and things aren't expected to get better if the following article is to be believed.
Millions of Unemployed Face Years Without Jobs
Call them the new poor: people long accustomed to the comforts of middle-class life who are now relying on public assistance for the first time in their lives potentially for years to come.

Well, may be things have changed, but when I did mine with Birkbeck, the oldest college of University of London, I had to do GMAT (and darn proud to say I had 700 for it!!!).
This: http://www.infozee.com/channels/mba/uk/uk-business-schools.htm
shows which unis require GMAT. |

99% of Ya Ya's post have UK bashing themes and they have had for years. It's quite frankly, kind of weird.
His subjects usually are - Stuffy Brits / Brits are ugly / have bad teeth / think they're smarter than us / have no work eithic / are Eurotrash / anti Euro / the Eurozone is failling news links etc... Seriosuly look at his posting history, it really is amazing...
One imagines he must have had an extremely scarring experience with a Brit once, possibly got burned by a member of the fairer s@x hailling from those Isles or cuckholded by a male hailling from those isles or something. But he really has a hate on for the Brits..... |
So if I say the English have fared badly in the World Cup (they've won just one), that must be because I hate the Brits? Yes, I don't care for the Brits and have had numerous problems with them, but the thing I said about the U.K. MBA schools is not an opinion. Not saying the schools suck, but well, one can better spend his or her money and time elsewhere.
Employers seem to prefer the U.S. MBA since it is harder to get (a LOT harder if it's from a half decent school) and this is something I hear from just about every biz professional I've talked to. |

Apparently, the deadline has been extended to submit all documents (mid March), however the application form is due by beginning of March. |

justin moffat, with all due respect, the fact that you are not posting the name of the institute in the open leads one to conclude that you are trying to scam people with a degree mill. |

There is a HUGE misconception with MBA's. Let me clear it up.
An MBA by itself is nothing. An MBA is only important with Job experience.
Candidate A:
5 years work experience + Bachelor's Degree
Candidate B:
0 years work experience + MBA
Candidate A will get hired.
Fast forward 10 years.
Candidate A:
15 years work experience + Bachelor's Degree
Candidate B:
10 years work experience + MBA
Now, the work experience doesn't seem as important. The MBA grad is MORE attractive to a company after many years. Candidate B will get the job or the promotion. MBA does not help you for entry level positions. It may get you more interviews, but a person with prior work experience will be more attractive for a company. |
