So I'm thinking about returning to the ROKetship and a recruiter told me that I need to get recent transcripts. I have some from my last job, and of course nothing has changed, but she said they'll get sent back if I send them. Anyone know if this is true? I don't really care to order more if I don't have to.
Thanks |

Korean Immigration requires the date stamp on the sealed envelope (containing transcripts) to be within three months of your application.
I'm almost certain that this is true, and why you've been asked to provide fresh ones. |

Really? Is this still true? The ones I sent were years old and I got my visa issuance number and will go for my ARC in a couple of weeks.
Maybe that's because there is NO date stamp on the outside, it's on the inside. |

I'll second the "not having a date stamp on the outside" point. I don't think most schools put date stamps on the envelopes and a number of recruiter sites covering visa documents suggest that a signature over the middle of the envelope seal is just as good as a stamp. |

though if it was mailed to you, there might be a stamp there.
But I had no probs with either of my transcripts, the ones from the US and Spain were both accepted. And the Spanish one was a pain. You'd think people who LOve beuracracy and paper pushing would know what a transcript is. |

For my first two E2 visas, I was told that the dated stamp should be within 3 months of my application, but I've just done some research about how necessary this is now... apparently not. Maybe it was an old requirement, maybe not. As my university seals the envelope with a stamp, I've always made sure that the date was recent.
Some recruiters still list the validity within 3 months thing as important, but based on what the above posters said, you should be fine. |

I just have my unis put the stamp of the uni name on the seal of the envelope. Or have them sign over it. |
