I found one who's husband works at CDI. She picked up at the subway. Took me to a real estate agent. Translated everything. WE looked at three places, affordable, in less than a half hour. 2mil won key money. 300 to 400 a month. All within walking distance of my uni
Pretty much furnished, stove, fridge, washing machine.
I found one I liked. It didn't have a bed. She called a second hand store and arranged for it to be delivered the day I moved it.
The real estate agent fee was 250,000. I'm sure she's getting a bit of that. And it's a bit high. BUt she was great. If anyone wants her email, PM me. SHe works in Seoul and around Seoul. |

Wow, sounds like a great deal. And close to SKKU? Perfect. Is Suwon typically that much cheaper than central Seoul, does anybody know?? That sounds really low.
I put down five times the key money, and am paying a few hundred thousand more a month, mind you I'm a 30 second walk from Hongik University.
It's pretty rare to get a place for only 2 million down, I think. Well done! |

No, not in Seoul. In Suwon. Guess luck was on my side. Though I did do a LOT of research before. AND, Dav'es ESL cafe is great for that.
I'm close to SKKU station. Probaly about a 10 to 15 minute walk from SKKU, depending on how high my heels are I don't care. I save on transport and gym costs,. NO gym since I'll be walking.
I Am in Suwon, so maybe thath's why. Basically, I told the real estate agent I had 1 mil for key money and 500 for rent. She said the key money was too low.
So I put 2 mil down and got less rent, which includes the 25,000 management fee. Not ultitles though. Not a villa. Just a one room. One of those small buldings. There are only three floors and about 2 or 4 flats per floor. I can't remember, like I said, I saw three in a short time.
hajima 99, how big is your place? DO you have furniutre?
There were two others that I looked at. ONe was decent, kind of cheapish. The other was good, but I didn't like how it was divided. |

| My real estate agent haggled the price of our apartment down 200,000 won per month with an intense session with the owner. From 1,000,000 a month to 800,000. There are some great ones out there. |

| 250,000 real estate fee is a bit high? That's the lowest I have heard. |
