Ok, before you say it, yes i did google it. I googled and googled and googled.

99% of the sites that I read said you can softmod all wii's (Korean not included).

So, if you have a 4.2k Wii, what did you do? Softmod or Modchip? If you did a softmod, did you also change the language? How? PM me with a link to the steps that you followed.

If you had a modchip put in, what chip? Is your system now in English? What did the modchip cost?

Has anyone gotten their system modded in Busan? If so, where?

My goal is to have an English system that will play backups of the games that I already have. I would like to play original US games if possible. I don't need to play them via USB.

Thanks.

I did read that article. I also read somewhere on page 70 something that someone asked if it worked on a Korean Wii 4.2k. There were no responses.

So, I was hoping to get a confirmation from someone that actually tried this on a 4.2k Wii.

Have you tried this? Did it work for you? Is your Wii version 4.2k?

I personally bought a 4.2j system to avoid all the Korean Wii woes. However, I did notice, though my research on Wii softmodding, that you only run into trouble on Korean Wii's when you try to update one with a foreign firmware or are not careful with AnyRegion Changer. Other than that, I think I got the sense that it was okay to follow general Wii softmodding guides. PLEASE DO TAKE my words with much salt.
