9.7" TFT LCD display, 1024x768 resolution, 802.11 n WiFi, 1GHz processor and 10 hours of battery life.
However, I am disappointed with the current lack of functions. No camera, no multitasking, no flash support, no SD slots.
Basically an iPhone on steroids.
Prices start at $499-$849 depending on memory size and 3G support. The iPad should be released within 60 days (90 days for 3G model, most likely longer until here in Korea) In the end, I'll most likely sucker down and buy one due to my tech toy obsession. Impressions? |

Looks like media will make or break this thing. Not very impressive IMO.

I'm excited for it, but also bummed it doesn't offer a camera. It would be really nice to be able to video chat on it.
I'll probably pick one up when it's available. I was considering a Kindle over christmas but I'm glad I held out. |

I wanted Flash, a camera, and full blown multi-tasking. The iPad is just a big iPod Touch. |

You're right, more of an iPod Touch on steroids than an iPhone. Also, I was really hoping for a tablet pen feature, for writing or drawing

Interesting, but I think a lot of people kind of expected a full computer in a tablet -- not something half-baked and obviously created to be improved upon for increased sales of upgrages 3 to 6 months later.
I'll be waiting before considering one, most likely. |

Yeah, I think the market has already experienced the lackluster power of netbooks. They expect more. |

From a marketing perspective, there's no need for a camera on the current iPad. Apple will sell all they can make in the coming months.
If they follow the classic Apple plan, prior to Xmas there will be a 2nd gen. model that fixes some flaws, and adds speed, memory and/or a camera.
If Korea follows it's classic model, the iPad will hit the streets here in a year or three...or sooner if the iPhone deal has opened a breach in the wall. |

I'm surprised nobody is complaining about the resolution. I think 1024x768 is horrible for any device. I guess it isn't that bad considering the device can't be used for actual computing, though. I was really looking forward to the iPad, but I'm now very disappointed. I still think it will sell well, though. |

Funny there's no Korean keyboard on this thing... I seriously doubt we'll see it in Korea any time soon.
I know I'll end up getting one in the future though. It will never replace my MacBook, but it would compliment it pretty well, and would likely replace my iPhone (aka fat iPod touch, Korean version) |

It's a big iTouch........they should have called it iTouch-fat.....
The marketing people at Apple, who might be the best in the industry, are going to have to work hard to sell this to anyone other than Macheads. It's up against netbooks which are getting more powerful and sexier all the time. |

iPad sucks.
No ports (SD card slot, USB port, etc..)
No multitasking. Can't even use a chat client while surfing the net.
No flash?!?!? Ultimate web browsing experience my butt.
Why would anyone pay $500 for this thing when they can get the best Netbook on the market for the same amount? In the previous iPad thread I said this thing would be a fail. Looks like I was right. |
