I'm thinking of buying an air conditioner from Gmarket. Does anyone know of how much installation costs, who to call etc? I assume it's not included in the price.

the vendors contact number is always near the bottom of their ad - usually just below the feedback charts. call, or have a korean call them, and make it clear whether or not installation is include or how much extra will it cost...or do you have to find someone elseto install it.

I wouldn't buy an AC new. Be patient and you'll find AC's for sale. I'm moving out in a few weeks and if the person moving in doesn't buy my AC unit, I'll sell it to you.

If you know how to get your a/c installed in my apt then I'll glady take it if you're near enough to Sanbon.

You'll have to call someone to install it. The price of the install depends on the kind.

They gotta run an exhaust pipe from the AC unit to the exhaust fan outside your apartment. Usually like 8 meters of piping is including in the regular AC install cost. Anything longer you pay extra.

So, are you on the ground floor? If you are then AC install will be cheap and easy. Do you have holes in your walls where a previous tenant had AC? If you are on an upper floor, you will have to buy an "Angle bracket". Its basically a metal shelf your AC exhaust fan sits on.

Trust me, when it gets hotter, you won't care how much the AC install will cost, just as long as you get an AC.

No, the new place is on the 11th floor. I would imagine the holes are already in place though. There was an air con unit installed when I first looked at the place, but that belonged to the family living there.

in that case, the AC install should be easy. the guy comes out and you would probably only pay like 50,000-70,000w for an install.

Of course, if you buy an AC unit new at a store the install is free.
