I moved into a new home about 2 years ago. the lights are mostly the long double-tubed kind. i don't know the technical term.
anyway, a while ago, the light bulb went out. i went to buy a new one, but it didnt work. one by one, the lights have been going out around the house, and every time i try to replace it, the new bulb does not work.
Today, on the living room, there is a set of four bulbs. only one was working. I put in a new bulb, and then put in another new one on another part, turned the lights on, and now all 4 dont work. even if i put the old bulb, which was working, back into its place, it does not work.
Why in the world is this happening? is there something i dont know?
when i buy the new bulbs, i bring in the old one and ask for the same one, the worker doesnt even look at it, so i am guessing the size is the only important part, wattage or volts are not the problem.
please help. this sucks |

It might be some kind of fuse/switch situation. There will be a box on the wall, in your house some where. When you find that box, I have absolutely no idea what you should do with it. ㅋㅋㅋ Sorry. That is likely your problem though.
Update: I just went and had a look at my fuse box deal. Mine has three switches. One is obviously important. It's big and red. The other two are obviously less important, they are small and black. All the switches have the number 30 written on them. The black switches are called "Jon Uel 1" and "Jon Dong 1" respectively.
Update 2: I just turned "John Dong 1" off and my lights went out. They appear to be connected some how.

Sounds strange... From my experience they only really have one standard for each type of light bulb here. So if you use those long ones then every long light bulb should fit in.
Can't explain why they aren't though. Maybe it's something wrong with the socket? Still sounds strange. |
