|
|
1. When starting a new job at a public school, do F4 visa holders have to get a medical check? I thought only E2 visa holders have to get a medical check to obtain their Alien Registration Card. (I already have my ARC since I've been in Korea under my F4 visa for just over a year.) I should also note that my contract is directly with the school and not through EPIK.
2. My F4 visa will expire in January 2011, a month before my contract with my school ends. Is it possible to get an F4 visa extended without having to go in person? I found this (http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/CvlapplInfoDetailR_en.pt?cvlapplCd=12700007A03&locale=en&cvlapplGbSeq=) on a website about doing an e-application, but when I scanned previous dave's esl posts I've never noticed anyone mention doing this. |

Assuming you are at a public school: you'll have to get the medical check done, whether it's a school contract or EPIK, that doesn't matter. |

It's necessary for your health insurance and the medical check should be free. |

the check isn't free. you'll get billed on your first paycheck. though its pretty cheap by us standards. |

Sometimes it's free. Not sure why sometimes the hospital won't ask for money, while in a different town they will. Be prepared to cough up in the neighborhood of 20,000 won. |
