I've never heard of late March start. So, this unusual. However, what else can we do? Things never happen at our most convenience.

That is a very plausible explanation.
I've noticed job starting times for GEPIK schools advertised at April and May.
I thought late March was strange, but May?

This back-up idea is the most logical explanation I've heard yet. It explains why the recruiter cant confirm much and yet wants me to hang in there. Hagwons here I come if this doesn't resolve itself soon. Are Epik really so insistant on keeping their cards so close to their chest?

Some teachers come halfway through the semester, therefore finishes their contract halfway through the semester of next year. That's why there are ads for odd months throughout the year. It's not that uncommon.
