What is it with Koreans elevators and subways. When the freakin door opens let the people inside get out! Why oh why do they push to get in as soon as the door opens?????
I have been in Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan and I have never seen the level of inconsiderate rudeness that Koreans possess in this area.
It has got to the point I just walk over whoever gets in my way.....if they wont let me out I make my own exit.
Sorry I had to vent but this does drive me absolutely stark ranking bonkers! |

maybe it's the same reason the kids push their way into a classroom when my other class hasnt even left yet.
When they try to walk in, i tell them to get out of the classroom and wait until the class before them leaves.
One of my 7 year olds got hit in the head with a door this week becasue the kids run down the starirs like retards when the bell rings to go home...I guess it follows them into adulthood, it's not like the korean teachers are saying anything to them, guess they are too lazy |

erghhhh..
this JUST happened for the billionth time...I ran out to get some water from the store and as usual, when the elevator got to the ground floor a lady had her nose AGAINST the door trying to push her way past me to get in...I turned and said, "No, let me tell you how this works! First I go out, then YOU go in!" She just kind of giggled. Stupid tw*t... Of course she had no clue what I was saying, but it made me feel better |

I just push them out of the way, they don't seem to mind.
Whats really funny is when i go to another country now and I'm waiting for the elevator you start guarding the door to get in first. I got a few strange stares when i went back to Australia and I didn't even realize I was doing it. |

If it makes you feel any better, I did witness some people get scolded for crowding and pushing. A high school aged girl was in the lead of a small group of people trying to get on the subway first. An old ajumma getting out blocked the entrance with both her arms and said something to the effect of "People get off, THEN you get on". She directed her expression to the young girl, but everyone else filed in politely after that....score 1 for hal-mo-nee!! |

I've honestly never experienced this. Maybe it's because I'm only in Seoul on weekends? On the subway, ever time I'm there, people wait on the yellow arrows while the other people walk out at the out arrow. Sometimes I wonder if you are all creating a fictional world just to make fun of me. I am that solipsistic. |

Tony Danza's Guesthouse,
Yeah, doesn't really happen in Seoul. What a relief. I lived in Busan years ago, and it seemingly happened nearly every single time down there. It was unbelievable. I went for a visit a few months ago and it has improved. But usually I associate that with that city.
The rare times I get it in Seoul, I'm very tempted to ask them 'Busan saram imnika?' |

My little story today. 9 am, students getting to their class for the 9 10 start. Elevators on both side of the hall. Too many student trying to get into the one that came first on the left. 5 seconds later the one of the right side of the hall comes, I make for it, it is empty, the others who cant get into the first elevator look as I enter the empty one. Nobody comes and gets in. I ride up alone. |

Perhaps utilising simple physics would be the best way to do something.
Drop the hottest, most rank fart. Something that's going to stain the seat. Then calmly move across to the door. The potential energy of the elevator/subway's inhabitants will far outweigh any hardnosed ajumma who's dying to get in first. After a few times of being hacked down by a flood of escaping passengers, these people will learn...
:D
