Hello,
I am applying to Pagoda Academy in Korea; I was hoping I could find someone who has worked for them or knows of them. I know they have branches in various locations, and start classes at different times of year. Can anyone tell me about their experience at the academy? or maybe experience in a particular location?
Many thanks in advance |

Although I would like to see an answer to this also, as they may have changed over the years. I am going to say, do a search. Lots of threads on Pagoda should be around.
From what I heard before, they are a good company but the split shift kills some people. Are you doing the Hagwon or the 1:1 teaching?
Good luck! |

| From the word of mouth that I've heard about the company, I haven't actually heard anything bad. I haven't seen or met many people who work at Pagoda but the ones that I have met all enjoy it there. |

| I worked there for 6 years and I have only good stuff to say about Pagoda. The splits killed me though. |

| Thanks, I have also heard complaints about the split shifts but I think I can live with that if the job is interesting. |

| I worked part-time for Pagoda in Kangnam for about 10 months (in 2003 or 2004). I didn't do any classroom teaching though. They sent me to businesses around Seoul to teach Business English in the mornings (5:00am - 8:30am) and evenings (6:00pm - 9:30pm). One of the companies was IBM, another was Fissler Korea (a German home wares company), and another was a pharmaceutical company. Anyway I don't know if Pagoda still does this but it was really good money and something different which I really enjoyed. |
