I have been trying to look for kimchi here in the United States for a long time, and I eventually bought some kimchi at a local H-mart. It was pretty terrible, nothing as amazing as the kimchi in Korea (For the one week that I stayed there).
So for all of you who are in Korea now, and are all probably really tired and sick of kimchi, I envy you all. That stuff is so good! I could probably eat it everyday for at least a year, then maybe I'd get sick of it too. |

baichu/cabbage kimchi?
don't you find it just too overpowering and pungent?
I can eat the stuff easily, I just don't love it.
The radish kimchi though, that's not bad. |

I have it on good authority that kimchi is very good for health and spicy. Spicy but delicious. |

Kimchi isn't bad, but I prefer carrots. I find Korean carrots very good, so I've started eating quite a lot of them lately. |

When I first tried kimchi, it was like an addiction. I kept wanting it. Now I eat it every day. I don't crave it like I used to, but I feel like I am missing something when I don't have it.
Kimchi is like salsa back home. When it's great, it's amazing. When it's "bad" it's just sort of blah.
Try a Korean/Asian foods market. The jarred stuff is nothing compared to handmade. |

s/he did. H-mart is a big Korean chain on the East Coast. H-mart kinda blows though compared to the Korean stores I went to in CA, at least when it comes to kimich offerings.
OP, if you're in the DC area, you might want to try Lotte mart. I haven't been there yet, but I know it is the other korean market option around here. And if you're in the NY area, then maybe some place in flushing can hook you up. |

The great thing about eating korean food with rural, narrow-minded folk is telling them the truth, and that being korean food doesn't taste good. |

I like kimchi and I love Korean food. Many other ethnic foods as well. It's difficult to find authentic versions of them back home sometimes, authentic meaning that they are prepared and taste similar to the way they are in their native lands. |

I eat kimchi every day at lunch at school. Sometimes i eat it at home, either cooking it with fish or alone as a diet/meal replacement. IUt's good stuff!
(not the end all-be all of food though) |

Sadly I live in the wild lands of COLORADO. So I have no Kimchi resources near me. It's a tough world over here.
Korean food not tasting amazing? Hmmm, I think it's extremely delicious. |
