Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had experience getting their macbook pro repaired in Korea while on a global warranty.
I purchased my macbook pro (loaded 15" one) just over a year ago and also got the extended 3 year warranty from a store in Canada called Futureshop (owned by BestBuy).
Recently I've been having problems with my video card (Nvidea 9600M). WHen I try to play any kind of game and the CPU/GPU (dedicated one or integrated one) heats up the screen will freeze. The laptop will not respond to any kind of input resulting in a hard restart. I've tried everything from installing windows, to toggling between the dedicated and integrate GFX chips. I've done trouble shooting on the net for hours and still have the same result. If I surf the net or the the GFX chip isn't being used everything is fine. I've been told that I probably have a faulty Nvidea card and it is quite common in these models. I realize now that I'm going to have to take my laptop in. It is a shame because I love everything about this macbook.
Has anyone used a global warranty here? I'm about to call Futureshop (Bestbuy) and see if there is a repair centre that they liaise with.
Thanks. |

Did you buy their in-house warranty service or the Applecare service?
If you bought their in-house warranty you are SOL as you would have to go back to Canada. If you bought Applecare, then it is world wide and there are probably 10 posts on this forum in the past year on where to go get your Macbook repaired. |
