I would imagine it's on every Korean channel. However, they will only show events Koreans are competing in, so short track, the 500m and 1000m men's long track and of course Kim Yu-na. In 2006 I remember most channels showing the races where Korea won non-stop for 24 hours a day until the next race a Korean was in. Litereally, they showed the same race over and over for 24 straight hours and the hof by my place was full of Koreans cheering EVERY SINGLE TIME. The races are only like 3-5 minutes long. Every so often they would slow motion the finish just to shake things up. At least they won 6/8 of the short track races so there ended up being some diversity by the end.
Anyway, the short track team is slightly weaker this time but expect the Kim Yu-na show for 2 weeks. I don't think she competes until towards the end, but they'll probably just show features about her. You'll have to depend on the internet (or AFN if you can get it) for any sort of indication that there are other teams competing at the Games. |

Wow, you are amazing, imagine jumping on that bandwagon. What are you doing to help any of the issues presented there?? Anything?? I'm going to assume you would rather just complain and be super cool with your awesome awareness.
How about you do just a touch more research before you blindly follow. Also maybe you want to consider some of the people who have been working for years to accomplish this event. Not to mention the athletes who have been training their whole lives for this moment. But let me guess you would rather make really "radical" comments.
Personally I cannot wait for the games, hoping to see a bit more then just Kim but hey the internet might just be my best friend for a few weeks. Going to make my time stuck at school a little bit nicer. |

SBS is the only Korean station showing the Olympics. there is some controversy over this as other countries have been allowed more than one. |

I heard on the radio yesterday that in the past, all three channels traditionally sent in a joint application, but this time round, SBS went on their own, and now have the rights for the next 2-3 Olympics and World Cups. They've obviously shelled out a LOT of money, and KBS and MBC are super pissed. But as one of the radio announcers said, it just means we won't be able to watch the same event on three different channels! |

Nope. It will be only on SBS and they will show almost every event.

You know, missing the Olympics is the only thing that might have held me back from coming to Korea this year... but then I remembered I can just see everything over the Internet, and I'll just sport my Canadian Olympic gear with pride!
Can't wait for hockey, skiing, figure skating... it's all going to be awesome. |

How is everyone going about watching the games? I know that CTV can only stream its coverage on the net in Canada but Im wondering if there is a way to get around that. |
