My friend made a video about the town we lived in rural Korea! It's hilarious and 14 minutes long. It's a great laugh. THe guy at the gym was always a riot to hang with! This is for all you noobs looking to seek the woods.... perhaps you want to think twice!

no woods in that video

the making fun of the 'puffed up' was infantile

the video breathed the condescension of a newbie

and the last part with the camera turned on self at the computer before the class bell was more boring than the reality

i wasted 10 minutes on this

g'night

You walked down the street. You went to the market. You went to the gym. You deskwarmed. You went to work. You took all your clothes out of your closet for some reason. You did your washing. You went on Facebook. You did your washing.

I'm going to do a video about my town.

I woke up.

I responded to some emails.

I did my taxes.

I taught some hakwon.

I watched some television.

I spilled some makgeolli on myself. Then I changed my shirt.

I smoked a cigarette.

Then I came to Dave's and skipped through half a video on youtube.

You owe me ten minutes.

Why some people are flaming you is beyond me.
I thought the video was a bit insightful and quite amusing.

Your small town in rural Korea looks more developed than my neighborhood in Seoul. I'm looking to move somewhere rural.

I wish there were more vids to come. Well done Smile

Can you give the timecode to the funny part?

part 2: 0.01-0.39-->the only part i enjoyed...i imagined being in the class and trying not to split a gut laughing at 'brush your t*ts', 'hey Ashley, brush your t*ts', and fester is a funny name. the rest was lame, the desk warming was annoying. for people who have zero experience of korea, it may be a tad interesting. who came up with the idea: 'hey, let's make a video and try to make our lives appear as boring and miserable as they could possibly be, it will be hilarious'?? FAIL

Other that the classroom scene ("brush your teeth" and the kids names) the rest of it was completely boring and the two people who made it come across as quite immature. The town didn't look too bad, the school looked nice, and the accommodations (although shared) looked clean and modern. What luck that the the guy at the gym could speak some English.

There are definitely problems with living in Korea, but if the biggest problem that you had was your inability to find ways to amuse yourselves consider yourself lucky. If you're used to living in a big city and that's the life you've grown attached to, then why on earth would you choose to go live in a small town in a completely foreign culture? What were you thinking?

Well, I suppose I can relate to it as I lived there. It was kind of boring, but, it was reality!

As far as owing anyone 10 mins of their life back, let me know when your school gives your weeks sitting on end during break back, and i'll return your call.

I really enjoyed living in that town, granted, it was boring. The Mr. Baek at the gym was great. Always a laugh. My friends had a less than fantastic experience, but like you say, it's all about being open minded.

I thought it was pretty funny. But, this is coming from someone who is hoping to be in Korea for the first time in August.

Maybe I will find this topic in a year and complain about how horrible this video is Confused

Uh, it looked like there were only eight or so kids in that class during the first part of the second video. Heaven!!! Way better than dealing with the thirty or so students that most city schools have per class.

I'm not going to make a video, let's just pretend I did.

Today I woke up and turned on the tube, then I went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth in the bathroom. Then I talked to my boss and booked my continuing flight and requested to be paid in Euro next month. Then I went to the US Embassy Website to register my exit, where I found the answer to a guy's question about severance pay at the end of a year when it's not in the contract. So I came to Dave's ESL Cafe to post the answer to the question and a link to the source. Then I checked my mail and got the receipt and itinerary for my flight. Then I came here and refreshed the forums, and posted this post. Now I'm going to go to the embassy website and register my departure. After that, I'll go get some breakfast.

Hope you liked it!
