I need some suggestions for English songs that are common in noraebangs. I have oreintation with my students coming up and last year the profs had to dance and sing. I managed to get out of the singing then so I think it will be my turn this year^^. The problem is that at the entertainment place was a dj/events guy and who had music but there weren't any words. So I need some suggestions for songs that i can look up the words for to take with me. I'm not good at remembering song names or artists, I have to hear the start of a song before I recognise it... Anyway..I'm not a very good singer, can't go very high or low. Twist and Shout is in my range but want something a bit more modern and not to slow..long notes etc. Any ideas welcome.
cheers. |

Hmm Under the sea.. that might work.. could try to ham it up a bit to cover my bad singing. Yesterday is a good one but the students are college age and it has a lot of looong notes requiring a person to be in tune^^. |

Have YOU ever listened to OTHERS singing in a PC bang? Listen, just one time, outside. It's BAD Sing what YOU can and sit down.
BTW, if I could actually SING, would I be teaching English in Korea? Hmmmm? |

Haha yeah good point. Wish it was a small noraebang... it'll be a large hall standing in front of 100+ freshmen. At least they are very supportive and will be so hyped up from the wierd dj guy that they love anyone who gets up and gives it a go. |

Try Basket Case - Green Day
Its a pretty easy, fast tempo song. It'll be over before you know it. |

At the video game arcades, even in the small towns, they usually have some noraebang booths that fit 2 or 3 people. Stop in and look through the book to find a good song. Cue it up and let'r'rip. 300 won per song. |

Is there any place online to find what songs are usually in noraebangs? |

Song selection varies. I've only been to a couple and I've heard what other friends have done at other ones.
Michael Jackson is big here as are a lot of popular 80's songs.
"Creep" by Radiohead seems to be a choice everywhere (though it's a bit awkward).
Weezer- Buddy Holly
They actually have a lot of what is available back home. Though, maybe not so much of the recent stuff.
I need to go, it's been too too long. |
