I just switched to a D10 visa, but now have to wait 25 days for a new ARC. Is it possible to still rent an apartment in my situation? I was hoping to rent instead of doing a homestay, goshi, or just drifting.
I heard you can get a certificate that says you have an ARC. Do I need this? Will people accept it? |

My wife and I are both on tourist visas, we just rented an apartment without an ARC. We signed a year lease and there was no problem. We visited around 10 different estate agencies (Budongsans) and not one asked for an ARC.
Where are you looking at renting? |

I appreciate your reply. I am in Seoul. I want to rent in the northeast: cheongryangri, gilleum, hyaewha, etc. |

No problems. I am not sure what key money you will need for those areas. We rented in Noksapyeong, most places were asking for 10 million but it was easy to negotiate them down to 5 million. We tried getting an apartment near Cheongu on line 5 but the lowest we could find was 10 mill key money for a 1 bedroom. |

The key money is insane. I appreciate the info as I'm looking for 5 m or under. |
