Hi I live in Daegu, South Korea, and would ideally like to buy a flatscreen tv so I can wire it up to my PS3, if anyone is selling this and lives in or near Daegu please let me know! I am also looking for second hand shops which sell Tv's but swear they dont exist, can anyone help me out!? Last thing is I'm looking for replica football shirts but cant seem to find these in Daegu, can anyone give me info ont this? I just wanna pay something in the region of 15-20000 won and looking for England, South Korea, AC and Inter Milan shirts. I have heard the best thing to do is buy them online but where?

Many thanks, Dave![/b]

Considering how cheap giant tvs are these days, you are better off buying a new one, rather than having to find and deal with the crusty codgers that sell used stuff on the street, garbage-picked junk mostly. They do exist and can be found here and there around town especially on the outskirts of downtown. Look for the scowling geezers squatting, spitting and/or shuffling amidst jumbles of rusting, soot streaked appliances. Really.
Or, if you are patient, wait until a tv appears on this forum. Alternatively, ask a Korean to help you find a used one online. This may or may not work. You are better off asking a man, in my experience.

GMarket (www.gmarket.co.kr/index_eng.asp) has online shopping in English (sort of). Maybe they sell jerseys.

[Warning! gratuitous, opinionated, unsolicited, but kindly-meant advice/rant]
Even better, don't buy a tv at all--watching that crud really is bad for your mental processes and the network news is...laughable if not plain misleading. In particular, tv sports, porn and computer games are childish wastes of time, designed for the common man to take us out of the action, a pacifying, neutering distraction from worldly affairs and development of our souls.
Can you imagine if our grandfathers, as grown men, spent 7 hours a day playing or watching games, and watching other people "doing it"? We'd have grown up in peasant huts--if we'd have been born at all--and totalitarianism would have rolled right over the West. Well, it's happening now as the webs--some cotton-candy coated, some wrapped in fear--of iron-fisted global governance slowly descend over an infantilized public half-asleep in our LCD-lined work-play pens.
I know its not fashionably cool, but I would suggest getting a life and doing something with it. Sell your toys and start developing some useful knowledge, experience and skills. No doubt you've heard all this before. As a recovering child-man, I say this as much to remind myself as anyone else; I've been slipping lately. And, original poster, the opinions above are, of course, not personal.

hepcat: When did you become the self appointed messiah of al things 'right', do you have intellectual rights over what consistitutes an evening well spent? And seeing as we're on the theme of wasting time, as you put it, wouldn't you say an over worded and rather pompous reply like the one you posted falls into the same meek field of time wasting. On a slightly unrelated note, and seeing as you seem so intent on identifying how best to spend our time in this world, I would go as far as saying that we are simply organisms on a planet in a petty solar system and should simply cherish the opportunity to enjoy our existance. If you're a man who seeks comfort from the divine and irrational this may not come as welcome news, but life is just a ride baby. So in the politest way possible, I'll simply say *beep* you and have a nice day.

Thanks,

Unconcerned organism and uncultured Brit.

I warned you. Just a rant. Sorry, go back to sleep, nothing's happening. Smile

edit: and, again, nothing personal.

There are some used TV shops by Daegu Station near the Gyodong Jewelry market area. I don't remember seeing flat screens there, but, when I went, my budget was fairly low.

If Daegu station is at your back, and you're walking towards the main downtown. It will be a couple alleys up to your left.
