I'm sure this has been asked to death before, but can anyone help with converting my PC's OS (at work) from Korean to English..?
even a link would be great. |

IF it is XP then you cannot convert to English - you have to get yourself an English copy of the OS and install it.

IF it is XP then you cannot convert to English - you have to get yourself an English copy of the OS and install it.

I remember reading a post on how it could be done provide sp3 hasn't been installed. It was posted here several months ago |

There is a way of converting XP to English. It isn't fool proof though. Some things are in English, others don't change. I will try to find the thread later.
In all honesty the OS language shouldn't be an issue. Just ensure your programs are the English version. |

The solution needs a modicum of PC ability, but really it's extremely simple.
First you must Start menu > Run > Regedit
Next navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Nls\Language
While in that directory you must edit the values of �Default� and�InstallLanguage�
Change both of them to just one of these numbers: 0409 = "en-us;English (United States)" or 0809 = "en-gb;English (United Kingdom)" The default for Korean is 0412.
Download SP3 in English from http://www.Microsoft.Com/downloads/details.Aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08
Restart your pc, install the update, restart the pc once more and voila your Korean language version of XP is now in English. Some Korean still remains via file names and applications, but everything to do with XP is now in English.
One tip, if your Korean version is already SP3 you must uninstall it. Check which version you have by entering winver in run.

| Out of curiosity and boredom I just did the above. It worked fairly well, everything, except for applications installed in Korean, has been changed to English. Also, after starting up and about every minute thereafter I get some obnoxious error message: "Windows - No Disk Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c" that takes a few clicks of either "Continue" or "Cancel" to get rid of. It's extremely irritating. |

| The service pack three method breaks the search function as well. I have yet to find a way to fix it, but it should be a simple matter of finding which file is missing (missing file error) and stealing it from a windows install. |
