Does anyone know if there is a bar(s) in Itaewon showing the March 13th fight between Manny Pacquio and Joshua Clottey?
If so, what is the local time?
It should be good fight so would like to watch it in a bar atmospher rather than online on the little screen.
Maybe there other fight fans in Korea that would know or looking 4 the same. |

I'm not sure if they're showing this fight, but your best bet would be Scrooge Pub. There are a few Filipinos working there, and they have shown the last couple of Pacquiao fights. I wasn't there but I heard it was really busy. They had some sort of brunch deal too I think.
Scrooge pub: go out Itaewon exit 1, take the second right (small alley up a hill) and when you come to the small intersection, it's upstairs on the left. |

Thanks for info. I might check it out there once I find out what time it is on Korean time. I almost see myself being there that it could turn out to be like a funeral, if pacquiao loses.
cheers though |

I have no further info, but I just want to ask if anyone else seems to notice a staggering large portion of ESL teachers really, really like Boxing?
Personally, I think that boxing has been a terrible sport since the invention of Pay-Per-View, but that's just me. |

PPV's definitely have weakened the sport. But things are changing in that regard. I think there were only 3 PPV's last year compared to way more in the years before. Also we are getting more competitive fights now the networks realise we wont watch boxing star vs nameless bum.
Boxing is making a comeback. There have always been people saying boxing is dying but it hasn't yet. The thing that gets to me is the bad decisions. There have been too many recently.
Funeka got shafted in his last two fights
that angulo on shobox on saturday night
campillo vs shumanov
It is undeniably corrupt and too often the wrong person wins.
I think this should be a good fight. Everyone is writing off Clottey but they forget that he pretty much beat cotto in his last fight. I had him winning on my scorecard. Having said that I've picked against pacquiao in his last 3 fights so dont listen to me. |

The fight will probably be shown at Scrooge, but then again, Hollywood Grill, Wolfhound Pub and 3 Alley Pub all have the same satellite getting the South African channels so if Scrooge shows it, the other three can, too.
Coverage should begin around 9 or 10 a.m. Sunday KST (March 14) but the fight itself will probably happen after noon.
KBS N Sport used to show boxing but hasn't lately.
And yes, boxing has always been a very corrupt sport. Look at Oscar de la Hoya, a good fighter at best who will never be ranked among the greats yet he's earned the most in boxing. |

Crooked boxing matches go back pretty far. The worst was probably the second Liston-Ali Title fight. One phantom "punch" in the first round and Liston took a dive.
