Hey everyone,
You won't be seeing me around here much anymore. Just tidying up really.
Anyway, I moved to Japan. Don't have a Gaijin card yet and I wasn't able to cancel my SHOW phone when I was in Korea because I didn't know there was a cancellation fee so I'm using my SHOW phone for emergencies here until I can get a iPhone with a local company.
When I got the SHOW phone in Korea they made me pay a $300 "deposit" (and the worker actually insisted that it was a deposit that I would get back once I finished the contract). I asked again when I was inquiring about canceling my contract about getting my deposit back and they told me that I would never be getting any of that "deposit" back even if I were to wait until the end.
So, using the phone here might be costing me a lot but do I really have to pay it considering I had to pay a $300 "foreigner-tax" when I bought the phone? Will it hurt me at all if I ever decide to come back to Korea to work someday (not bloody likely)?
Cheers. |
