Hi,

I'm finishing my first contract in May. I was offered a re-up at my school, but I would like to move into Seoul for my second year (I live in the outskirts).

I'm lost on what to do. Should I contact a recruiter? Or just directly contact schools?

Will I be required to do the entire paper trail again to get a new E2?

Thanks

(I searched for this in the archives but the search function was driving me crazy)

You should require the same documentation as before, original or nortorized degree, sealed Uni docs and health check (can be done here) if you don't have the Uni docs contact your Uni, they should send them free of charge. Degree you should be able to get from your boss/recruitment agency (unless they lost it^^*). My advice is to contact a recruiter in Seoul and try to get a job that way, there are SO many jobs in Seoul. Good luck.^^*

You will not need to apply for new documents all over again unless you leave Korea in between contracts. I switched schools recently and wasn't even asked for new exam transcripts. To transfer your visa will need the following documents:
A employment contract that must be signed and stamped by new employer
-Notice of appointment
-A copy of business registration from new employer.
-Guarantee letter from new employer.
- Letter of release from old employer.

Please note that there should not be any time between finishing one contract and beginning another.

I have transferred my visa 3 times in Korea, never had to leave Korea and as mentioned I just brought those documents. I had a local police check done just in case, but it was a waste of time and money.

With that said, you may still want some transcripts sent. In my case, I haven't used them, but I have them and will be looking for work in China. I don't need to do that now. Since there is no mention of a criminal background check for China, I am hoping to find a school after visiting and studying Chinese for a few months.
