| I'm looking for a HD camcorder. Something under 500 which can capture great video and take decent still shots. Anything out there like that. |

I bought one stateside. You won't find comparable prices here. That's not to say you won't find good cameras.
The canon and sony are great options if you have the dough. I personally prefer Panasonic (they've always emphasized manual options), but I recently bought a sanyo xacti hd1010 that's serving my purposes excellently.
Having bought and used any number of prosumer cams, you're best off saving some dough and renting what you can't really afford to buy. |

you may try these pocket digital cameras: samsung wb650 or panasonic dmc-zs3.
both have HD video recording. |
