In February the unemployment rate held at 9.7 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today..

Of course! Remember how they gauge it - people who drop off the compensation rolls no longer count as unemployed. So the economy still lost jobs, but the net loss was upset by those not counted as unemployed.
Not in any way to be confused with "America broke even on jobs last month"... |

It was beginning to appear that they had finally turned a corner but I guess it will take months before we can draw any conclusions. |

The only corner they've turned is that so many jobs have already gone away that the rate of NEW job losses has to drop. |
