So a friend of mine is claiming to be inhabiting Seoul, but in reality his friends are calling him a poser and telling him he really lives in Bucheon or Incheon.

Please Dave's loyalists help us with this annoying argument. Confused

This thread is in reference to myself. I inferred that Bucheon is in fact in the Seoul metropolis - as is Incheon and anything on a Seoul subway map. Correct? I never said anything about it being considered center Seoul. I wish the OP would have been a bit more clear upon posting.

"With a population of over 10 million, it is one of the world's largest cities.[1] The Seoul National Capital Area, which includes the Incheon metropolis and most of Gyeonggi province, has 24.5 million inhabitants,[2] and is the world's second largest metropolitan area.[3] "

My arguement being that since I am from Overland Park, KS, I wouldn't introduce myself as being from Overland Park. Instead I would say "Kansas City," then further specify if someone was familiar with the area. I can't believe this made it to Dave's lol. Do we need to define what metropolis means? I would vote but there isn't a "Seoul Metropolis" option.

*edit* Also, it is "Yeokgok" incase anyone is confused.

역곡 doesn't pass Seoul-people's snobbery test. It's in 시골 and you are a 촌놈.

no dude, you're not in Seoul, you're in Bucheon. And most Koreans have heard of Bucheon (it does have 800K+ people you know).

The OP did not clarify because I believe that "Metropolis Areas" are an idiotic creation so that idiots can be ignorant about geography. And so that cities such as Seoul, Mexico City, New York City, and others can claim to be "the biggest and the coolest". Like the Bucheon guy said: Bucheon has over 800,000 people seems like a big enough city for me.
