Hi guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm fresh out of TEFL training and looking for a position in Korea and this morning I was offered a placement based in Boryeong-si.
So it seems this place is famous for the Mud Festival and very little else. Does anyone have any experience of living here or could someone who has been to the festival offer some opinions on the place? I don't mind where I go in Korea really as long as it's not a total dump.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! |

It's a nice little town. Never lived there, but did a summer camp there. I really liked it and thought it'd be nice to live there. Not too far from Seoul or Daejun. The foreigners I met there had lived there for a couple years and liked it.
Sorry I can't tell you more. |

No, that's great! I just wanted an independent opinion on the matter.
All these Korean cities have wonderful looking websites run by the local tourist board and I'm worried that I'll show up and discover the "glorious, sandy beach" is a grey strip of water filled with dog mess and used condoms. This kind of thing happens to me all the time. |

I have a friend that lives there and he loves it. His schools are country chools but he lives in town so he has access to Emart, etc.
A nice place, There's great seafood, and of course the beach too.
It's pretty fun to go to the beach even when the mud festival isn't on. Sometimes there are ATV rentals for ripping up and down the coast. |
