Hey All,
Has anyone had any experience with the American Tesol Institute? I saw on Dave's ESL cafe on the Korean Job Board, the first thing that comes up is the Special Thailand/Korea Project where you teach in Thailand and get your TESOL Cert. and then teach in a Korean public school for a year right afterwards. Has anyone done this program? Or had any dealings with American TESOL Institute at all!???
Thanks! |

IF you have a degree -
Go to Thailand.
Take your TESOL cert. and have some fun on the beach.
Cost you about $500 for the whole thing (cert, beach, beer).
It is a nice 1 month holiday.
Contact some recruiters and get a job.
If you do the ATI thing...
You will pay more for your TESOL (US$950?) and work for less by going through them than by doing it yourself.
THEN:
The TESOL teachers can expect to get USD 1500 as their monthly salary and also accommodation free of cost.
uh... isn't $1500 about 1.6 million won?

Heck, even a teacher with nothing more than a BA starts at 2 million + all the other usual benefits.
Who is getting the other $350?
.....
OR
....
If you don't have a degree, then go for it. They are promising what they can't deliver.
