Is it the trend that most teaching jobs (other than university positions) have deskwarming involved?
I noticed that a lot of jobs expect you to be there for an eight hour period.
I don't really understand this as I was trying to negotiate no deskwarming at my current school but they would rather give me a raise instead...
Are there still schools out there that do not require deskwarming? What would you say would be the percentage of schools that do not require it? |

| I voted "No". I'm at school(PS) 8 hours a day during regular school time. I can knock off early sometimes. If there are meetings, events where the students leave school etc. I have to nominally desk warm during vacation, but as long as I show up from time to time no one notices. |

@ Senior Dude, you be one lucky guy. Let's keep our fingers crossed that you'll have this privilege as long as you work over there.

Haha, thanks for the support. Two years, so far. Starting my third, will find out in the summer if I did the right thing. New co-teach and Principal, could be dicey. |

I hear ya. Unbelievably, or perhaps not unbelievably, my new co-teacher is even more witch-like than the last Shrew who sat-in on my classes. The second school is pretty alright, though, and this makes me smile. The first one might be fecked-up 'cause the Principal has been there since 1979 or because he doesn't give a flying whatever about anything: "Chaos in our classrooms, you say, Mr. Irving?! Well, you'd better not say that again!"
Watch AC/DC's live (1978) "Whole Lotta Rosie" video on www.youtube.com. Scott's the singer, it's recorded at Saint Albert's Hall, and it's at You Tube with most of the other numbers from that live appearance.
