Hey everyone.
I did a search on these forums and I didn't see a Lockerz thread to my surprise. First of all, Lockerz is a site run by Kathy Savvit who was the former Vice President of Amazon.com and also the former Chief Marketing Officer of American Eagle. It's a site where you earn "PTZ" for doing simple tasks such as logging in, answering a daily question which takes about 5 seconds, and watching videos (music, trailers etc). You then exchange these "PTZ" for prizes such as an iPod Touch/Nano (iPad is coming soon too), PS3, Xbox, MacBook, console games, Nintendo DSi, PSP Go, Wii, stakeboards, and many more prizes.
I assure you this isn't a scam by any means. You may google Lockerz if you wish and you'll see it's legit. It would be bad if it wasn't legit for someone who had high positions in Amazon and American Eagle. Roughly, there are over 700,000 users and anyone can join. They ship internationally (although you may have to pay customs if you aren't located in the USA).
Let me illustrate what some prizes would cost.
iPod Touch 64GB = 800 PTZ
iPod Touch 32 GB = 700 PTZ
iPod Touch 8 GB = 325 PTZ
MacBook Pro 13-inch = 1500 PTZ
Xbox 360 Game System Elite = 675 PTZ
PS3 Game System - 250 GB = 900 PTZ
Wii Sports with Console - Games included = 250 PTZ
Ratchet & Clank Bundle - PSP = 200 PTZ
DSi Game System - Black = 375 PTZ
All of the console games = 100 PTZ
All of this can be seen once you sign up.
To get in on the action, the only way to do so is to get an invitation. Since I don't have 25 posts yet, I'm unable to PM anyone but I still think people with 25+ posts would be able to PM me. All you need to do is send me your e-mail and I'll send you the invite. For those who haven't reach 25 posts, you may go to this website -> http://www.emailmeform.com/fid.php?formid=621545. This was set up by me using the emailmeform so you don't share your e-mail address with others. All you have to do is 1) In the "Your Name" section, you must use digits (don't ask me why... I'm not sure myself. I'm not a computer wiz by any means). 2) Enter your e-mail 3) Enter a subject and a message. 4) Enter the image code.
I will then get an e-mail sent to me and I'll forward you the Lockerz invite. I currently reside in Canada but hopefully, soon enough I'll be in South Korea.
It's midnight now so if anyone would like an invite, I'll be sending them at 8 am EST when I wake up.
For the Mods. I apologize if a Lockerz thread has been done before and it breaks the TOS. I read the TOS before posting this but I don't see this fitting into one of the categories. However, if it does break any rules, I will not be opposed if it's deleted. |

Sounds like a virtual pyramid scheme to me. |

Hi,
Nope, this isn't a pyramid scheme. In fact, there's no money involved for anyone who signs up.
Here's their FAQ -> http://www.lockerz.com/faq
Pyramid schemes are illegal in the US. I doubt Kathy Savitt would pull off something like that.
You really do get prizes in exchange for PTZ.
At first I was skeptical as well but when a friend won a PS3, I was skeptical no more.
If this was a scam (and trust me I would know), I wouldn't be posting it here. Then again, that's all the convincing I will do. I'm not here to force anyone to join. If anybody has a Lockerz account, maybe you can chime in? |

hmmm. i did some research. you earn points for tricking other people into joining. the likelihood of the new members receiving a prize is much lower than it was for old members. here is my visual summary:
_______
______
_____
____
__
_
looks like a uh... like a... hmmm. can't place it.

It's hardly any tricking. The only way for people who want to join is through invites. Obviously, new members would have a hard time receiving a prize simply because they just started. Rome wasn't built in a day. There's a "redemption" period about once or twice a month where at a certain time, you can redeem prizes. There's been talk of obtaining a prize 24/7 instead of the redemption time frame. Currently, it's the US vs international. Whoever earns the most PTZ by March 25 between the two sides will be awarded the redemption time. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.
But Machinoman I do feel sorry about your cousin. One of my friends was scammed on ebay via the "escrow" scam. He lost $1800. That's a lot for the student and his family. Unfortunately, the RCMP or the police can't do anything about it since it took place outside of North America (the scammer lives in Spain). He has learned his lesson though that's for sure.
Contrary to my user name I am not a scammer.
I thought Lockerz was popular but I guess not. At least not on these forums. |
